1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PetQlix ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
PetQlix is a social networking platform designed for pet owners to connect, share content, and engage with a community of pet lovers. The App allows users to:
- Create profiles for themselves and their pets
- Share photos, videos, and posts about their pets
- Follow other users and interact with their content
- Send and receive friend requests
- Engage in messaging and community features
- Discover content through explore and breed-specific sections
- Browse and create pet listings for adoption in the Pet Adoption section
- Connect with potential pet adopters
- Share breeding information and certifications
- Post and view ephemeral Stories (12-hour content)
- Search for breeding partners ("Find Mate" feature)
- Report and search for lost or found pets
- Interact with posts through likes, comments, and shares
- View trending pet content and pet news
- Block and report users
- Customize privacy settings (Public, Friends Only, Private)
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
- You must be at least 13 years old to use PetQlix
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
3.2 Account Security
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized account access
- You may not transfer your account to another person
3.3 Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time through the app settings
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease
4. User Content
4.1 Your Content
- You retain ownership of all content you post on PetQlix
- By posting content, you grant PetQlix a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the App
- You represent that you own or have permission to post all content you share
- You are solely responsible for your content and the consequences of posting it
4.2 Prohibited Content
You may not post content that:
- Violates any law or regulation
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains hate speech, harassment, or bullying
- Promotes violence or illegal activities
- Contains sexually explicit material
- Exploits or harms minors
- Contains viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Is spam, misleading, or fraudulent
- Violates the privacy of others
- Promotes animal abuse or cruelty
4.3 Content Moderation
- We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms
- We may, but are not obligated to, monitor or review user content
- We are not responsible for user-generated content
5. Privacy Settings
5.1 Account Privacy Options
PetQlix offers three privacy levels:
- Public: Anyone can see your posts
- Friends Only: Only confirmed friends can see your posts
- Private: Only approved followers can see your posts
5.2 Privacy Controls
- You can change your privacy settings at any time in Edit Profile
- Privacy settings apply to new posts and existing posts
- Some information (profile picture, username, bio) may be visible regardless of privacy settings
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 PetQlix Property
- The App, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by PetQlix
- PetQlix trademarks, logos, and service marks are the property of PetQlix
- You may not use our intellectual property without written permission
6.2 Copyright Infringement
- We respect intellectual property rights
- If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please contact us with:
- Description of the copyrighted work
- Location of the infringing content
- Your contact information
- A statement of good faith belief
- A statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury
7. User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Collect user information without consent
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
- Interfere with the App's operation or security
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App
- Reverse engineer or decompile the App
- Use the App for commercial purposes without authorization
- Create multiple accounts to evade bans
- Engage in any illegal activity
7A. Community Features
7A.1 Stories
- Stories are ephemeral content that expires after 12 hours
- Stories may include photos, videos, or text
- You acknowledge that Stories are visible based on your privacy settings
- You may not post Stories containing prohibited content (see Section 4.2)
- Stories may be viewed by your friends or followers depending on your settings
- We may retain Stories temporarily for moderation purposes even after expiration
7A.2 Lost & Found Pets
- The Lost & Found feature helps connect lost pets with their owners
- You may report a pet as lost or found with photos and location information
- PetQlix is not responsible for reuniting pets with owners
- False or fraudulent lost/found reports may result in account suspension
- Contact local animal control and shelters in addition to using our feature
- Remove your listing promptly when the pet is found
7A.3 Find Mate (Breeding Partners)
- The Find Mate feature connects pet owners for responsible breeding
- You certify that your pet is healthy, vaccinated, and suitable for breeding
- You must disclose any known genetic conditions or health issues
- You are responsible for all breeding arrangements made through the platform
- PetQlix does not verify breeding credentials or health certifications
- Follow all local laws regarding pet breeding and licensing
- We strongly encourage responsible breeding practices and health screening
- Commercial breeders must comply with all applicable business licenses and regulations
7A.4 Interactions (Likes, Comments, Shares)
- You may interact with content through likes, comments, and shares
- Comments must comply with our content policies
- Sharing content may make it visible beyond the original poster's followers
- You may not use interactions for spam or manipulation purposes
- We may hide or remove interactions that violate our policies
7A.5 Blocking and Reporting
- You may block users to prevent them from seeing your content or contacting you
- Blocked users cannot send you friend requests or messages
- You may report users or content that violates these Terms
- False or malicious reports may result in penalties
- We investigate reports but are not obligated to take action on every report
8. Premium Features & Subscriptions
8.1 Premium Subscription
PetQlix offers tiered subscription plans with enhanced features:
Free Tier:
- Unlimited posts
- Unlimited Stories (expire after 12 hours)
- Unlimited messages
- 2 pet profiles
- 30-second video limit
- Basic analytics
- Ad-supported experience (banner ads in feed)
Pro Tier:
- All Free features plus:
- Ad-free experience (no banner or interstitial ads)
- Up to 10 pet profiles
- 60-second video limit
- Verified badge (blue checkmark)
- Custom themes and premium filters
- Advanced analytics
- Priority customer support
Subscription Terms:
- Subscription fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the App Store/Play Store
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- You may optionally watch rewarded video ads for bonus features (available on all tiers)
8.2 Refund Policy
- Subscription fees are generally non-refundable except as required by law
- Refunds may be provided at our sole discretion for extenuating circumstances
- For App Store or Play Store purchases, refund requests must be made through the respective platform
- If you purchased directly through PetQlix, contact petqlix@gmail.com for refund requests
- We may provide prorated refunds in cases of billing errors or technical issues
8.3 Free Trial
- We may offer free trials for premium features (typically 7 days)
- You must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged
- Free trials may be limited to one per user or device
- Payment information is required to start a trial
- You will be notified before your trial converts to a paid subscription
8.4 Advertising
Free Tier Users:
- The app displays banner ads in the home feed (approximately every 7 posts)
- Interstitial (full-screen) ads may appear when viewing video content
- Ads are provided by third-party ad networks (Google AdMob)
- We do not control the content of third-party ads
- You may report inappropriate ads through the app
Pro Tier Users:
- No banner or interstitial ads
- Ad-free experience throughout the app
- May still opt-in to watch rewarded video ads for bonus features
Rewarded Ads (All Tiers):
- Optional video ads that grant temporary bonuses or features
- You choose when to watch rewarded ads
- Not required to use the app
9. Third-Party Services
9.1 Third-Party Links
- The App may contain links to third-party websites or services
- We are not responsible for third-party content or services
- Your use of third-party services is at your own risk
9.2 Third-Party Integrations
- PetQlix may integrate with third-party services (Google, Apple, social media)
- Use of these integrations is subject to their terms of service
- We are not responsible for third-party service failures
10. Disclaimers
10.1 "AS IS" Basis
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
10.2 Pet Health & Safety
- PetQlix is a social platform, not a veterinary service
- Do not rely on App content for medical advice
- Always consult a licensed veterinarian for pet health concerns
- We are not responsible for pet health outcomes
10.3 User Interactions
- We do not verify user identities or backgrounds
- We are not responsible for user-to-user interactions
- Exercise caution when meeting users in person
- Report suspicious activity to our support team
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- PetQlix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you haven't paid us)
- This includes damages for lost profits, data, or goodwill
- Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PetQlix, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another person
- Your content posted on the App
13. Changes to Terms
- We may modify these Terms at any time
- We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
- If you don't agree to changes, you must stop using the App
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the Hellenic Republic (Greece), where PetQlix is based. However, users in other jurisdictions must also comply with their local laws.
- For EU users: EU consumer protection laws apply
- For users outside the EU: Local laws apply in addition to these Terms
- Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Athens, Greece, or your local jurisdiction as applicable
- You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts for disputes arising from these Terms
15. Dispute Resolution
15.1 Informal Resolution
- Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to resolve the dispute informally
- We will attempt to resolve disputes within 60 days
15.2 Arbitration
- If informal resolution fails, disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration
- Arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) or, for EU residents, under the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
- You waive your right to a jury trial
- Class action lawsuits are not permitted
15.3 Exceptions
- Either party may seek injunctive relief in court
- Small claims court actions are permitted
16. General Provisions
16.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PetQlix regarding the App.
16.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
16.3 Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
16.4 Assignment
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or successor.
16.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

18. Special Provisions
18.1 California Residents
California residents have the right to:
- Request information about data collection
- Opt-out of data sales (we don't sell data)
- Non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights
18.2 European Users (GDPR)
EU users have additional rights under GDPR:
- Right to access your data
- Right to data portability
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to object to processing

18.3 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
- PetQlix is not intended for children under 13
- We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13
- Parents may contact us to delete child data
19. Pet-Specific Terms
19.1 Pet Profiles
- You certify that you have authority to create profiles for pets you add
- You are responsible for accuracy of pet information
- Pet profiles must represent real animals, not fictional characters
19.2 Lost & Found Features
- We are not responsible for reuniting lost pets with owners
- Users should contact local authorities for lost pets
- We may remove inactive lost pet posts
19.3 Pet Adoption
19.3.1 Adoption Purpose
PetQlix provides a platform for users to connect regarding pet adoption. The adoption feature is designed to:
- Help pets find loving homes through adoption
- Facilitate connections between pet owners and potential adopters
- Support responsible pet rehoming and rescue efforts
19.3.2 User Responsibilities
Before Creating an Adoption Listing, You Must:
- Have legal ownership or authority to rehome the pet
- Provide accurate, truthful information about the pet's health, temperament, and history
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding pet adoptions
- Obtain necessary health certificates required in your jurisdiction
- Verify the pet is healthy and has received appropriate veterinary care
- Disclose any known health issues, behavioral problems, or special needs
Prohibited Listings:
You may NOT list pets that are:
- Stolen or obtained illegally
- Sick, injured, or suffering from undisclosed medical conditions
- Banned or restricted breeds in your area (without proper permits)
- Wildlife or exotic animals that require special permits
- Too young to be separated from their mother (typically under 8-12 weeks depending on species)
- From illegal breeding operations or puppy/kitten mills
- Being offered for sale (adoption only - no commercial sales permitted)
19.3.3 Health & History Disclosures
When listing a pet for adoption, you must disclose:
- The pet's lineage and breed information (if known)
- Health screenings and veterinary records
- Any genetic conditions common to the breed
- Complete health and behavioral history
- Vaccination records and certifications
Responsible Rehoming:
We strongly encourage adoption from shelters and rescues. If rehoming your own pet, you must:
- Follow all local adoption regulations
- Provide complete veterinary records
- Screen potential adopters carefully for responsible pet ownership
- Consider spay/neuter requirements
- Ensure the pet's welfare and safety
19.3.4 PetQlix is NOT Responsible For:
- Verification of Pet Health: We do not inspect, verify, or guarantee the health, temperament, or condition of any listed pets
- Adoption Completion: We are a platform only; the actual adoption occurs directly between users
- Adoption Fees: Any adoption fees occur outside the app; we do not process or guarantee payments
- Legal Compliance: You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws
- Disputes: We are not party to disputes between adopters and rehomers
- Pet Welfare: Once an adoption is completed, we are not responsible for the pet's welfare
- Returns: Any return policies must be arranged directly between parties
19.3.5 Safety Guidelines
For Current Owners Rehoming Pets:
- Meet potential adopters in safe, public locations or conduct home visits
- Request references and verify identity
- Use written adoption agreements
- Require spay/neuter agreements (when appropriate)
- Screen carefully for responsible pet ownership
- Never share sensitive personal information before meeting
- Consider reasonable adoption fees to cover veterinary costs
For Adopters:
- Visit the pet in person before committing
- Request complete veterinary records and health certificates
- Ask about the pet's history, behavior, and special needs
- Get everything in writing (adoption agreement, health records, etc.)
- Be prepared for adoption fees that cover veterinary care
- Report suspicious listings or scam attempts
19.3.6 Adoption Fees
- Listing a pet for adoption is FREE on PetQlix
- Reasonable adoption fees to cover veterinary costs (vaccinations, spay/neuter, health checks) are acceptable and encouraged
- All adoption fees are arranged directly between users; we do not process transactions
- Be wary of payment scams (wire transfers, overpayment schemes, etc.)
- We recommend using secure payment methods with protection
- Commercial pet sales are NOT permitted on PetQlix - adoption only
19.3.7 Reporting and Enforcement
You Must Report:
- Animal abuse, neglect, or cruelty
- Scam attempts or fraudulent listings
- Commercial sales attempts (selling pets for profit)
- Illegal breeding operations or puppy mills
- Listings that violate these Terms
- Unsafe or unethical practices
Our Rights:
- We may remove any listing that violates these Terms
- We may suspend or terminate users who violate adoption policies
- We may report suspected animal abuse or illegal activity to authorities
- We are not obligated to investigate or verify reports but may do so at our discretion
19.3.8 Legal Compliance
You acknowledge that:
- Pet adoption laws vary by location
- Some jurisdictions require health certificates for adoptions
- Certain breeds may be banned or restricted in your area
- You are responsible for researching and complying with all applicable adoption laws
- Commercial pet sales are prohibited on PetQlix
- Violations may result in legal penalties, fines, or criminal charges
IMPORTANT: By creating a listing, you confirm that you comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction. See Section 19.4 for region-specific requirements.
19.3.9 Limitation of Liability for Adoption Feature
IN ADDITION TO OUR GENERAL LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY, PETQLIX SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR:
- Pet health issues, injuries, or deaths after adoption
- Misrepresentation of pet information by users
- Financial losses from scams or fraudulent transactions
- Breach of adoption agreements between users
- Legal violations by users related to pet adoptions
- Injuries or damages caused by pets after adoption completion
You agree to indemnify PetQlix for any claims arising from your use of the adoption feature.
19.4 Regional Compliance Requirements
PetQlix operates globally, and users must comply with their local laws. Below are key requirements for major regions. This is not exhaustive legal advice - you must research and follow all applicable laws in your area.
19.4.1 European Union (Including Greece)
Applicable Laws:
- EU Directive 98/58/EC (Animal Welfare)
- Regulation (EU) 576/2013 (Pet Movement)
- National laws (e.g., Greek Law 4039/2012)
Requirements for Pet Adoptions:
- ✅ Pet must be microchipped before transfer
- ✅ Minimum age: 8 weeks (weaned from mother)
- ✅ EU Pet Passport with vaccination records
- ✅ Health certificate from licensed veterinarian
- ✅ Rabies vaccination (mandatory for dogs, cats, ferrets)
- ✅ Microchip transfer to new owner
- ✅ Updated vaccination records
- ✅ Health disclosure required
- ✅ Adoption contract recommended
- ✅ Spay/neuter often required or contracted
Prohibited:
- ❌ Adopting out pets under 8 weeks
- ❌ Transferring pets without microchip
- ❌ Commercial pet sales (PetQlix is for adoption only)
- ❌ Trafficking protected/endangered species without permits

- UK: Lucy's Law emphasizes rescue and adoption
- France: Certificate of commitment required for first-time pet owners
19.4.2 United States
Requirements Vary by State:
- Age minimums for adoption vary: 7-8 weeks typically
- Health certificates required in many states
- Adoption contracts recommended
- Rabies vaccination required in most states
Key State Examples:
- California: Emphasis on rescue and shelter adoptions
- New York: Health certificates often required for adoptions
- Florida: Health certificate within 30 days recommended
- Texas: Local ordinances apply for pet adoptions
Federal Laws:
- Animal Welfare Act (AWA): Governs animal welfare
- USDA APHIS: Regulates interstate pet transport
You Must:
- Check your state and local adoption laws
- Provide health records and vaccination documentation
- Ensure proper pet welfare during rehoming
- Note: Commercial pet sales are NOT permitted on PetQlix
19.4.3 United Kingdom
Applicable Laws:
- Animal Welfare Act 2006
- Lucy's Law (2020) - England
- Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018
Requirements:
- ✅ Lucy's Law: Puppies and kittens can only be sold by breeder or rescue (no third-party dealers)
- ✅ Breeder must have local authority license (if breeding 3+ litters per year)
- ✅ Minimum age: 8 weeks
- ✅ Microchipped before sale (mandatory for dogs)
- ✅ Must show puppy/kitten with its mother
- ✅ Provide written information (care, feeding, training)
Prohibited:

- ❌ Selling without viewing with mother
- ❌ Importing puppies under 6 months for sale
19.4.4 Australia
Requirements for Adoptions:

- South Korea: Animal Protection Act; microchipping and registration
- India: State-level regulations; some breed restrictions
19.4.7 Universal Requirements (All Regions)
Regardless of location, you MUST:
- ✅ Ensure pet is healthy and properly cared for
- ✅ Disclose known health issues or behavioral problems
- ✅ Verify pet is legal to own and rehome in your area
- ✅ Provide accurate age and breed information
- ✅ Follow humane treatment standards
- ✅ Be honest about pet history and background
- ✅ Screen adopters appropriately for responsible pet ownership
You MUST NOT:
- ❌ List endangered or protected species without permits
- ❌ Attempt to sell pets for profit (adoption only)
- ❌ List animals that are sick, injured, or too young
- ❌ Misrepresent breed, age, or health status
- ❌ Engage in animal cruelty or neglect
19.4.8 Platform Compliance
Before Creating an Adoption Listing, You Confirm:
1. You have legal authority to rehome the pet
2. You comply with all adoption laws in your jurisdiction
3. The pet meets minimum age requirements for your area
4. You have all required documentation (microchip, vaccines, health certificates)
5. The pet is healthy or you will disclose all known issues
6. You will screen potential adopters responsibly
7. You understand PetQlix is for adoption only, not commercial sales
PetQlix May:
- Request proof of compliance (health certificates, microchip records)
- Remove listings that violate adoption policies
- Report suspected illegal activity to authorities
- Restrict adoption feature access for policy violations
PetQlix Does NOT:
- Verify your legal compliance (your responsibility)
- Provide legal advice about local laws
- Process payments or hold funds
- Guarantee the legality of any transaction
- Assume liability for violations of local laws
19.4.9 User Responsibility Acknowledgment
BY CREATING A PET LISTING, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE:
- I have read and understand the requirements for my region
- I am solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws
- I will obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and documentation
- I will provide accurate and truthful information
- I understand PetQlix is a platform and not responsible for my compliance
- I will indemnify PetQlix for any legal violations on my part
Failure to comply with local laws may result in:
- Listing removal
- Account suspension or termination
- Legal action by authorities
- Fines and criminal penalties
- Civil liability
